I did an Inspection the other day in Jasper Texas. This is my home town and it was hit pretty hard by Rita. After the strom blew through there were contractors from every part of the country doing work there including installing new electrical poles and lines.

This line is from a replacement pole that was shifted slightly from the original electrical pole location. As you can see from the pic,the crew got creative on sleeving the electrical line on top ofthe home. Yes I noted it in my report. I just wanted to confirm, it is the city's responsibility to correct where necessary? Despite who did the work and after what happened in the area.

Hey Phil,

There is a problem with your posted picture. It looks like that you have inserted a space between the end of the file name and the word '(small)'

Anyway, here is the photo;

The patch work done on the line splice does look like a normal re-spliced repair. That yellow sleeve is just that... a sleeve. The actually spliced SEC is not visible.

What does look suspect (and it might just be the angle of the photo) is the clearence height of the service entry to the roof top. Any idea what that distance was?

Also, this topic might recieve the feedback it needs if put in the 'Electrical' section.
